Meet our Board



President - Riza Yamat Leak, MA

Riza Yamat Leak is the Talent Development Specialist for Trim-Tex, a family-owned manufacturing company.  She graduated with her Master’s degree in IO Psychology from Roosevelt University. She brings an invested interest in assisting organizations support, recognize, and empower their employees within their roles. She loves connecting with others and being a connector. Riza enjoys being a part of CHIOP and is looking forward to engaging with its members and the Chicagoland community to promote the field of IO Psychology! 



Executive Vice President - Amal Hussain, MA

Amal Hussain is an Inclusion and Diversity Specialist at Arthur J. Gallagher, leading diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives globally. She brings years of research experience working in academia focusing on serious mental illness followed by pharmaceutical market research. During her time as a psychiatric researcher, she was fortunate to work with and learn from leaders in the equity and inclusion space. Amal is an influential force in the workplace and is known for her relationship management skills and fostering feelings of belonging. She graduated with a BA in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an MA in IO Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. 



Vice President of Practitioner and Community Outreach - Deondre' Rutues, MA, MBA

Deondre’ is the energetic, affable personality that you want in the office. Do not let his good nature fool you, he gets the job done. Naturally inquisitive, his tendency is to ask why, as he believes it is the questions that are not asked that are most pertinent.  A burgeoning community leader in Chicago, Deondre’ spends his personal time serving the community of Austin by committing to Social Justice Advocacy in the arenas of mental health, policing, economic inequality, and racial equity.  With an MBA and MA in IO Psychology, Deondre’ has curated a skillset that involves both theory and practical application giving him the versatility needed to produce in any environment. His current profession sees him leading police districts 11, 15, & 25 as a Community Engagement Specialist for NYU's Policing Project. 




Vice President of Finance - Mark Kammerdiener, MS

Mark’s education background includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kennesaw State University and a Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. His career background includes over 30 years of I/O Practitioner experience working with leading organizations across multiple industries. Mark is the Talent & Organizational Effectiveness Lead at Trim-Tex, a global manufacturer of drywall solutions. He is responsible for the strategy development and delivery of talent management, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness solutions. In addition, Mark is also a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Masters of I/O Psychology program at Elmhurst University. 




Vice President of Communications - Katy Tegethoff, MA, MBA

Katy Tegethoff is a Leadership Assessment & Development Consultant at Kincentric, a firm specializing in unlocking the power of people and teams. Her work focuses on delivering leadership assessments, development programs, and coaching to leaders at all levels. Katy has a track record of executing large-scale global projects, including the development and implementation of performance processes, the creation and facilitation of leadership programs, and managing full-cycle, firmwide engagement surveying. She received a Master of Arts in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and a Master of Business Administration from Roosevelt University in Chicago, and she has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. 




Student Ambassador - Tony Lam

Tony Lam is a Ph.D. student in the I/O Psychology program at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, with his broad research interests in Psychometrics and Assessment bringing him to the I/O field. More specifically, he is interested in test development, measurement validation, false response detection, computer adaptive testing, and the use of technology in assessment and selection. Tony is currently an associate consultant for the Center for Research and Services, and the assistant project manager for the Chicago Public Schools' selective enrollment testing program. He is excited to join the I/O field and hopes to continue developing his applied and research skills, and furthering the interests of the field with the local I/O community.
