Charles Krugel (Panelist)

As a management side labor & employment attorney & human resources (HR) counselor, Charles Krugel, www.charlesakrugel.com, has 18-plus years of experience in the field & has been running his own practice for 13 years. His clients are small to medium sized companies & not-for-profits in a variety of industries. In addition to providing traditional labor & employment law services, he represents companies desiring to institute preventive & proactive HR functions. These functions include policies & procedures that help to efficiently & discreetly resolve issues in-house & prevent lawsuits & complaints; they also help to reduce costs & act as catalysts for increasing productivity & profits. Charles has been the lead litigator, negotiator & representative for hundreds of labor & employment agreements, arbitrations, mediations & agency cases/complaints & investigations. Moreover, he’s frequently the subject of business related TV, radio & print interviews. Relative to civic & association involvement, Charles is on many boards of directors including the Chicago Bar Foundation’s Young Professionals Board; the GOA Regional Business Association-Chair Elect for 2013/14; Youth Outreach Services; Kelly Hall YMCA; Black & Latino Achievers of the YMCA's of Chicago; & the Small Business Advocacy Council.

Andrew Goldberg (Panelist)

Upon graduation from law school in 1996, Mr. Goldberg joined Laner Muchin, Ltd.  Mr. Goldberg is currently a Partner in the Firm, with a concentration in the Quick Serve Industry, Steel Industry, Food Ingredients and Flavourings industry, as well as extensive practice in other manufacturing and service industries. He co-authored the Employee Benefits and Collective Bargaining Chapter supplement for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education and Employee Benefits Law Manual and of the State Laws Chapter of Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education Labor Law Manual. Mr. Goldberg co-authored the article titled “Capturing the Benefits and Avoiding the Dangers to Employers of Managing in an Electronic Age,” for the 2009 Employment Law Update. Mr. Goldberg is also a contributing editor to the Developing Labor Law.

Jeremy Edelson (Panelist)

Upon graduation from law school, Mr. Edelson joined Laner Muchin, Ltd. in 2006. Mr. Edelson’s practice involves counseling and defending employers with regard to numerous state and federal labor and employment laws, including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act, and the Illinois Human Rights Act. In addition, Mr. Edelson drafts and reviews employee handbooks and personnel policies, trains management on discrimination and harassment matters and represents employers before administrative agencies such as the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Illinois Department of Human Rights, the Illinois Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Board and the Illinois Public Labor relations Board.
