WORKPLACE MOTIVATION: THE REAL-WORLD VERSUS THE THEORIES

Join us for an online discussion about motivation at workplaces - what can we learn from recent research findings and what can be taken away to add value to our real-world applications.

Some topics covered in our discussion:

  • What do you do to motivate people in your team and organization?
  • What strategies from existing research literature have you applied and found useful?
  • What are some critical but often overlooked limitations with approaches such as gamification and job characteristics theory?

We welcome you sharing your experiences and thoughts on the reality of workplace motivation and the applicability of motivational theories to the real-world.

Newly appointed CIOP board member, Lucas Chen, will be moderating this event. He is a doctoral student in IO Psychology and an adjunct faculty member at the Illinois Institute of Technology. His research interests include leadership development, team effectiveness, and personnel selection.

We look forward to having you join us for a lively discussion on this topic!
