This presentation includes an overview of work completed to develop and implement an assessment center at Walgreens. 100 director-level leaders from across the organization have participated in the center, as part of their experience in a high-potential leadership development program known as Leadership EDGE. The presentation will focus on alignment of the assessment center to Walgreens' strategic priorities and purpose-driven organizational culture. Walgreens is one of the largest drugstore chains in the U.S., with more than 9,800 stores and 240,000 employees that serve about 76% of the population of the USA.

Dr. Kyle Gerjerts is the Director of Talent Management at Walgreens in Deerfield, IL. In this role, he is responsible for leading talent management strategy, overseeing company-wide and global initiatives that include selection, assessment, employee engagement, competency modeling, performance management, succession planning, 360 assessment and workforce planning. He earned his Ph.D. from DePaul University in Industrial/Organizational Psychology in 2009.

Dr. Sarah Haynes is a Principal Consultant in Talent Management Strategy at Walgreens. As a Principal Consultant, she leads the design and implementation of talent management strategy with experience designing, developing, and implementing organizational and individual assessments, recommendations and interventions with executives, diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams She earned her doctorate from DePaul University in Industrial/Organizational Psychology in 2016.
