This is a panel discussion and opportunity for academics and practitioners to come together and discuss the role of I/O psychology in diversity and inclusion in the workplace. What role does I/O Psychology play in managing diversity in organizations and how can I/O psychologist be even more helpful in the current climate.
Panelists
Dr. Audra Davis is an Organizational Psychologist who leverages formal training, unending passion and a nearly 20-year track record of successfully developing people and organizations’ potential. She utilizes standardized and organic assessments to understand individuals, teams and organizations, and then develops customized solutions that bridge where they are and where they want to be.
Dr. Davis has extensive leadership experience working in and consulting to non-profit and for-profit organizations. For the past several years, her exclusive focus has been supporting healthcare Chief Diversity Officers and Chief Human Resource Officers in developing culturally-competent and capable workforces. She also has functional expertise in several organizational effectiveness areas, including diversity and inclusion, talent acquisition, talent management, business process improvement and quality. She is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and is certified in Executive Selection Assessment.
Dr. Davis holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from DePauw University and a master’s and doctorate in Organizational Psychology from Rutgers University. She is a 2016 Diversity MBA Magazine Top 100 Under 50 winner, and a current member of the DePauw Board of Visitors.
Ashley Robinson, M.A. works as a diversity recruiter at Accenture. This role allows Ashley to explore different areas of talent acquisition and personnel development. She serves as a strategic business partner to support Accenture’s diversity initiatives – while also providing complimentary sourcing. Ashley received her master’s degree in I/O Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in 2014 and her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2010.
Cynthia Cerrantano, PhD is the Associate Dean of the Office of Instruction, Adjunct Psychology Faculty, and Academic Support at Harold Washington College. Cindy received her Doctorate in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Northern Illinois University.
Kortney Peagram, PhD is the President and Owner of Bulldog Solution, Inc which is a leading provider in student and teacher programs. She works with schools, camps, universities, and community organizations to reduce bullying and violence. Kortney Peagram has developed bullying and social skills training programs on evidence based research and behavioral models to increase the overall training effectiveness. She consults, writes, facilitates, and presents on bullying, cyber bullying, violence, diversity, and relational aggression. Kortney Peagram is also an Adjunct Professor and Director of a LEAP (Leadership Education and Assessment Program) at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she received her doctorate in Business Psychology. She has taught Organizational Behavior, Group Facilitation, Organizational Design and Culture, Individual Assessment, Internship and Consulting. As part of her postdoctoral study at The Chicago School, she manages a small consulting center and conducts research on leadership. By blending her education and passion, Kortney Peagram delivers professional and effective programs.
Alice F. Stuhlmacher is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychology at DePaul University. Her research interests include negotiation and conflict in organizations, particularly relating to gender and virtual communication. She has been active in applying meta-analyses to summarize existing research and has also published research relating to personality, workplace safety, and decision-making. Her Ph.D. is from Purdue University in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. In addition to conference presentations and publishing, she has been an invited speaker to various groups such as Women in Science, Women in Business, Georgetown University’s Gender in the Workplace Research Initiative, and Harvard University’s Gender in Negotiation Research Seminar, and will join us to discuss diversity issues in the workplace.
